RAF heroes’ epic hike to demand free prescriptions for patients with rare genetic diseases

EXCLUSIVE: Squadron Leader Nick Smith and friend Squadron Leader Liam Summerfield raised more than £9,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Two RAF heroes have walked 164 miles to Downing Street with a petition demanding free ­prescriptions for patients with rare genetic diseases.

NIck Smith got 15,492 signatures on his petition to get free prescriptions for people with Cystic Fibrosis.

Nick  and Liam are now part way through the trek to Downing Street. Day one took them from Wolverhampton to Warwick, Day 2 Warwick to Weedon and today is day 3 and  have hopefully made it to Milton Keynes from Weedon along the Grand Union Canal. They plan to deliver the petition to Downing Street on day 5.
