Alexander Dennis, Plaxton Donate to Support Cystic Fibrosis Care
Cystic Fibrosis Care is incredibly grateful to Alexander Dennis, Plaxton, and the Unite Union Plaxton branch for their generous donation, raised through their annual Christmas raffle.
Each year, the Union organises a Christmas raffle in collaboration with the company, with prizes donated by both the Union and the business. Employees nominate charities close to their hearts, and all proceeds from ticket sales are donated to these worthwhile causes.
This year, one of their members, Warren Marshall, asked if they could support Cystic Fibrosis Care in memory of his sister, Karen who sadly passed away from the disease in December 1974 at the age of 4 having been diagnosed at the age of 2. Marking the 50th anniversary of her passing in December, the donation was a way to honour her memory.
Unite Branch Chairman, Alex Sheader, was keen to ensure the donation would support people living with Cystic Fibrosis locally. After speaking with the CF Unit at Leeds General Infirmary, he was directed to Cystic Fibrosis Care, which provides vital support to patients and families across Yorkshire, including those from Scarborough.
The generosity of the Unite Union and Alexander Dennis will make a real difference to those in need.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone at Alexander Dennis and the Unite Union for their kindness and support.
