LGI CF Specialist Team and Pat Kilpatrick, Director, Cystic Fibrosis Care, at the CF Unit

Leeds General Infirmary Cystic Fibrosis Unit nursing team all got together with with Specialist nurse Leslie Mackenzie in the paediatrics Unit to receive a Dexcom CGM, funded by Cystic Fibrosis Care.  Leslie said “it’s made glucose testing for diabetes in young CF patients so much easier and kinder to the child, it’s very accurate”.  With a second Dexcom sensor it means more CF children can be checked more often in the seven shared care CF units in the Yorkshire region.

Pat Kilpatrick, director of the charity said “we are so pleased to be able to help provide this equipment, the Glucose monitoring System makes life so much easier for the children to check continuous blood glucose levels”.  The unit only had one so a second device will help so many more young CF patients at the LGI and shared care hospitals.
